Son of James Faed, Senior.  Landscape painter and illustrator, particularly views of the Galloway hills and moors.  Celebrated for his painting of heather.  Exhibited at Kirkcudbright Fine Art Association, 1886 and 1889.  His picture The Town Park, which hangs in the Town Hall, New Galloway, was exhibited at the Royal Academy 1893.  Illustrated Sloan's Galloway 1908.  Twenty watercolours published as Galloway Watercolours, 1920.
