Influenced by John Duncan. 1912 and 1913 showed in Edinburgh with J R Barclay, D M Sutherland, A R Sturrock, J G Spence Smith and W O Hutchison. Married Cecile Walton in 1914. His portrait of Cecile,1922, oil on canvas 106.1 by 91.6 cms, is in Aberdeen Art Gallery Member of Edinburgh Group, which exhibited at New Gallery, Shandwick place 1919, 1920 and 1921.
