William Ewart LockhartArtist: William Ewart Lockhart 13.5 by 19.75 inches
It is know that Lockhart painted two versions of this subject. Although both pictures show the funeral procession there are a number of differences in detail. The Peebles picture was the result of a commission to illustrate W Patterson's Illustrations to the works of Robert Burns from original drawings, published 1880.
