Best known of a family of artists.  Painted some fine oil scenes of Scotland.  Fielding appears to have stopped in Dumfriesshire to paint, perhaps on his way north or south.  In 1831 he exhibited a work at the Royal Water Colour Society entitled View from Cannobie, Eskdale, looking down the valley to Netherby-Skiddaw and Cumberland Mountains in the distance.  In 1834 he exhibited Distant View of the Cumberland Mountains from Dumfriesshire.  In 1839 he exhibited Distant View of the Cumberland Mountains from Eskdale, Dumfriesshire and in 1852 the Cumberland Mountains seen from Eskdale, Dumfriesshire.

Fielding was Treasurer of the Royal Water Colour Society in 1818, Secretary 1819 to 1826 and President from 1832 till his death in 1855.
