His Dumfries from Mountainhall was discovered by Professor Stuart of Sydney on a visit to his native town and gifted to the Burgh.  Measuring 79.5 by 112 cms it is now in the Dumfries Museum collection.  Exhibited a still life at the Royal Scottish Academy 1841.  Youngest son of David Dacre, grocer, Dumfries.
